Yahweh can’t be both omnibenevolent and omnipotent, because terrible events really do occur, and this all-loving god hasn’t prevented them. This is known as the Problem of Evil (also known as theodicy), and it is one of the biggest problems for those attempting to prove the existence of a loving, all-powerful god. How can anybody explain the existence of such a god, while also knowing the bad things that happen to all of us and the terrible things that happen to far too many?
The ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus summed it up well when he wrote these ideas:
Either God wants to abolish evil, and cannot; or he can and does not want to.
If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent.
If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked.
If, as they say, God can abolish evil, and God really wants to do it, why is there evil in the world?
And yet the idea of an all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-good god with free will won’t go away. So, here we are discussing this subject again. It’s good to remember that thousands of gods have been created by humankind. Monotheists don’t believe in all but one of them. Atheists don’t believe in just one more.
In fact, the existence of honest and kind atheists is another proof that the Christian god, who demands belief, doesn’t exist. If this all-good god existed, it would want everybody to be saved — even atheists. If this all-knowing god existed, it would know that atheists just want real proof of its existence. If this god were all-powerful it would be able to give unambiguous proof of its existence. It hasn’t. Therefore this god doesn’t exist.
As I have shown, the concept of God is also logically contradictory; God not only does not exist but cannot exist. In short, God is impossible.
However, if there were a God as described in the “holy bible” then those scriptures tell us that God created evil, does evil, instructs evil, watches evil, hears evil, decides when evil will happen and creates people to do evil things. Now this, of course would be yet another problem for Christians. I mean, if God decided when a child would be molested, watched it happen, created the person to do it, then god would be rather immoral indeed.

I don’t think you are truly understanding your own logic. If God abolishes evil, all mankind will be abolished because mankind is evil. So is it really loving for God to abolish evil? Or is it loving for God to leave evil in the world yet send Jesus Christ as the redeemer to save sinners out of the evil world? I would definitely go with the latter.
Also, why do you presuppose your own logic onto God, like He has to save everyone in order to be a good God. That is proof for the non existence of your own made up god but not the God of the Bible. God gives man plenty of evidence yet they will suppress it so they won’t have to believe in God. God does not have to save everyone to be good. If God did save everyone, how could we know He is good if He doesn’t allow any bad in the world? Because evil exists, we can know God exists.

first off, there is no God. Unless you have found some evidence to prove him to be factual? If not, then for anyone to claim he is real is lying.
I guess you think it is ok if a child is molested (some of the worst evil). that is pretty sick. Jesus Christ, the redeemer, sorry, that is a story and again, not factual. you have no more proof for your God than anyone else does for their God. you can not more prove their god is not real no more than they can prove yours is not real. why? because they are all stories, wrote down in books, once upon a time and not based in reality.
why do i presuppose my own logic onto God? why do you suppose your logic onto the muslim God or onto buddha or krishna? because you don’t believe they are real. I just happen to believe in one God less than you do. also, you presupposed your own logic onto your God by saying if God abolishes evil, all mankind will be abolished. that is your logic, but do you have proof this is what God claims? I didn’t think so.
God, according to scripture will save ALL men, or have you not read scripture. There you go presupposing your logic onto your own God by claiming “if god did save everyone, how could we know he is good”. how can you expect I can’t use my logic and then you go all out with yours? because you learn to be a hypocrite when you accept lies as truth.
you make statements and statements and then never prove any of them. another example “because evil exist, we can know God exist”. prove that statement. come on…prove it. or are you going to run away from facts like most religious people. becasue evil exist we can know that the god allah exist or buddha? pathetic.
Again, the Christian god, according to scripture will save all and hell fire and the second death are NOT literal and ALL evil is OF God. you really need to read the bible or if you stick around, i would be happy to school you.

alright if right away you want to say there is no god, who created the Earth? It has to be something that created the Earth and everything. I look outside and see the Earth and see that as evidence because every building needs a builder, right? So how can the Earth be created without a Creator? It seems like you are living the fantasy.
I never said I liked a child molester. I think it is gross and wrong, but that doesn’t disprove God. You also have to be very ignorant to believe that Jesus Christ never was a man because any scholar would say Jesus was actually a man and I am not talking about a Christian scholar, any scholar. Jesus lived here on Earth and you have to ignore the facts if you want to disprove that.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. All are sinners, does that make us good or evil? I don’t think even you would say that we are good. We are all evil because we sin.
Also, nowhere does it say that God will save all men. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. Jesus Christ came to save those who will believe in Him. You need to start reading the correct Bible before making these claims.
Prove “Because evil exists, God exists.” Okay, how do you know what is evil? How is murder evil? How is stealing evil? How is giving to charity good? How is protecting your family good? There must be an absolute universal morality, because if you say there isn’t, then someone can murder someone and say it is good, but obviously it is not good, right? There must be someone that created what is good and evil because if there wasn’t, there wouldn’t be an absolute morality level that says murder is evil or protecting your family is good.
“I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things.” Isaiah 45:7. Yes, God ordains evil but He does not sin in doing so. Sin is evil but evil is not sin. God ordains someone to murder another person but is not sinning against him because it is His perfect wrath against that person. But the actual murderer is sinning because he is doing it because he hates the person. I hope you understood that. The overall point is that God is not sinning by ordaining evil. You can see it Genesis 50:20:
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”
He ordains evil for good as in this instance, He ordained Joseph’s brothers to sell Joseph into slavery. Joseph’s brothers did it because they were jealous and hated Joseph, but God ordained it to save Egypt and Israel from the famine. God has a purpose for evil. That is why He ordains it. His purpose for it is to save us (not all but those who will believe in Him).
You can try to ignore the facts all you want, but the truth is that Jesus Christ was a man on Earth and died on the cross. God put the sins of His believers (past, present, and future) on Jesus Christ and crushed Jesus with His wrath. Christ took the punishment and died. On the third day though, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and reigns over all the Earth. He is now commanding everyone to believe in Him. You can try to ignore the facts, but that doesn’t make God fake. He is real.

It amazes me that people like you that believe in some God (many people believe in many Gods and other superstitions) make an endless number of claims and never prove or provide a shred of evidence to backup your claims. You live in some fairy tale world where you just say anything and imagine it is true and that everyone should just believe you. We can pick any God and those that worship their God will make many of the same claims you make about yours and yet none of them are true either. however, you are so far into your delusion you can’t see how ridiculous your alternative reality has become.
Even when it comes to the bible, most christians preach that God will save only them, will torture billions, isn’t evil and doesn’t do evil things and so on. Yet the christian’s bible contradicts all those teachings and explains a God that does, instructs, created all evil and those that do evil for the purpose of evil. God determines the time when a child is molested and a woman is raped and god watches it all take place. God says he will save all men and that the book of revelation is symbolic and demonstrates it with numerous symbols throughout the book. Scripture after scripture supposes all that I have just stated. however, you were brainwashed into another reality that even the word of god making it clear what he will do and what he does do isn’t going to change your mind.
the amount of evidence that lacks for your jesus as even being a man is amazing in its self. not to mention all the claims made by religious types about him. the christian hell is clearly taken from an earlier religion in egypt and one only needs to compare them to see the facts. many other god’s came before jesus and just happened to have many parts of their life the same as Jesus…but came before him.
the fact that you can’t prove your version of god or disprove any other version is yet another clue to the lies.
however, no matter how much evidence is shown, you will not believe any of it because you are brainwashed. I would guess your life is not too full of happiness and you need to feel loved and that someone very powerful has picked to love you and protect you. you are afraid of burning in a hell fire, maybe. you really want to go to another place that is better than here and you fear death. we could go on and on with reasons and many of them would be true…though you would not admit it.
before you go around making an endless number of claims you can’t prove, not even remotely. why not first prove your god. then, people might listen. then, if you want, i will teach you what the word of “god” actually, clearly, obviously states.
however. I don’t have the professional skills to undo brainwashing.

if heaven exists and god exists but allows evil. Death is not “evil” because it is a passageway to heaven.
July 3, 2009 at 6:25 pm
then i guess hitler was not evil as he was god’s creation to opening the passage way to heaven for many. people will make any excuse to think their version of god is moral yet everything that happens is of god (according to scripture) so god molests children as well. i call that pretty evil.
July 4, 2009 at 10:52 am
Evil is a word that men use to describe the bad feelings they experience when something is committed against them or against what they think should have been done.
Death as a passing should not be feared because it leads to heaven. It is in no way “evil.”
Men who torture and kill out of pleasure or selfishness are sinners because they harm god’s creation.
God set into motion a creation. When Adam chose to eat the apple, he chose to be independent from God’s love. Those who are independent from the fullness of God’s love will seek to satisfy their problems and needs in unhealthy ways.
God created man and man chose evil as an existence in the world. God chose not to interfere.
July 4, 2009 at 10:05 am
Death is evil because death is the result of our sinning. “For the wages of sin is death” Romans 6:23.
July 4, 2009 at 11:11 am
See, you can’t make a statement without making some claim you can not prove, again. You make a habit of this because you are religious. You entire belief is put together by claims you can’t prove or provide one shred of evidence to support.
your statement is “Death is evil because death is the result of our sinning.” and you do not provide any proof that this is a true statement. You give a scripture and if you believe it somehow proves your statement as fact.
I don’t go around stating evolution is true because it was written in an old book and the creator of evolution, Darwin, stated it was true. That would be idiotic and imagine how the religious side would attack such logic. Even though we have historical records that prove Darwin was real and not imaginary.
So your claim that death is evil because death is the result of sinning is ludicrous. It is no more a valid statement as me saying God does evil because “…so shall the Lord bring upon you ALL EVIL THINGS…” (Josh. 23:15).
“…shall there be EVIL in a city, and the Lord has not done it?” (Amos 3:6).
OR
“What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God and shall we not receive EVIL” (Job 2:10).
Just because I use scripture to show that God does evil doesn’t mean there is a god that actually does evil.
I don’t typically block comments but I am thinking about blocking your future comments just because you fail to provide evidence or argument to support your claim. Please, at least try to provide evidence and some argument to support your claims or they really are just lies that you want to believe.
July 3, 2009 at 11:53 pm
Actually, a theodicy is a defense of God. And in this case, the classic defense is that He has justified reasons for not immediately eliminating evil. Whether the reasons are good or not is another matter, but the “problem” of evil actually misinterprets omnipotence. Omnipotence refers to being all powerful, but power has limits. Power doesn’t enable the impossible, and it may very well be impossible for God to eliminate all evil immediately and still achieve His justifiable ends.
Further, the problem of evil is actually an unwitting theodicy in itself, in that it’s not very likely that a sense of good and evil would have ever developed in a completely materialistic and deterministic world.
July 4, 2009 at 10:08 am
now that doesn’t make much sense. All-Powerfull has limits? All-Powerful would mean to have complete power; almighty. Complete would be entire, full or to the greatest extent. no limits on that and not sure where you get the limits. Then of course we have the claims of God being able to do what we perceive as impossible and scripture even makes it clear “with men it is impossible but with God all things are possible”. we can’t just jump around and make claims of what it means to be all powerful and change the actual meaning of the word and then we can’t claim it is impossible for this imagined god and then ignore his “word” that tells us with him “all things are possible”. either he is almighty and all powerful or not.
in my opinion, it is very likely that a sense of good and evil would have developed in a materialistic and deterministic world and did long before christ. common sense and they say evolutionary factors tell us that we don’t kill our children if we want to carry on in life. if that happened, we would not be here today.
we can’t mix reality with claims of everything else and then expect to make any sense.
then, if we are to accept this word of “god” then clearly we can easily prove based on his word that he is the one that wanted us to suffer the evils we suffer in this world. those evil could be disasters, cancer, child abuse, suffering, hunger and all manner of sick and file things of life. his very word takes claim to doing it all.
so you see, no matter how you look at it, it comes back to God, should he be real. then we need to figure out which god is real, too many to choose from. then we need to figure which denomination, sect, cult version of God is real. or we can be honest and say, all this is made in the imagination of men and none of them are likely but instead just a part of our fears.

Hey, truelogic …
Just because mankind over time has invented many gods, and continues to do that to this day, doesn’t necessarily mean that there is no one God. He/she/it may be an evil God.
Why do some men prosper while the majority of humanity suffer in utter want and ruin?
Why are there so many evil governments in the world?
Why does human greed play such an prominent role on earth?
Is it any wonder that those who suffer generation after generation reach out to a God who may or may not exist in order to make some sense out of their lives?
Do those who do not believe in a God, any god, have things any better than those who do?
Any further comments?
July 4, 2009 at 11:26 am
You are correct, it doesn’t mean there is no one God. It doesn’t mean that there isn’t multiple Gods or that God isn’t actually a supernatural pig. As an agnostic and as I have stated in my blog in many places, I do not know if there is a god or not. No one knows. to claim otherwise is to lie, which is dishonest. I can say, based on evidence against human created/written about Gods and their lack of evidence that this is not likely a god as imagined by most humans today.
I also agree with you that people reach out to god’s for many reasons, including those that suffer generation after generation to make sense out of their lives.
You asked, “Do those who do not believe in God, any god, have things any better than those who do?”
I personally believe those that admit the truth have it better. Those that admit the truth that they don’t know and empower themselves to make change are better off than those that simply say it is because of God and one day God will change it for me. Always relying on someone else to change it for you, the hope of maybe something will change if I pray enough, is the reason generation after generation suffer.
Imagine if we all started to be honest to each other and with ourselves? When I lost a great deal of money in the stock bubble “pop” I didn’t blame anyone but myself for being foolish enough to leave over 700k in ONE company. I knew better but thought (greed) I would make much more. I didn’t blame the company that lied about their financial reports and future projections, i didn’t blame God or think God would save me from all this loss. I realized it was me and I picked myself up and rebuilt. I lost much more than that and have yet to get it all back and don’t care if I do other than to help others with my ability to create a little extra income.
we can give an endless number of example for why believing in such things is far more dangerous to the human race and this planet.
However, there are times when maybe it is helpful. Such as a loved one dying and the end is near. The comfort of believing we will see each other again is a lie that just might be worth it. I don’t happen to fear this death and accept it as reality. Yes, I know what it is to realize I am going to die and I didn’t use God to get past those painful moments in my life. I again, too charge and all of us should take charge and actually help others.
Churches claim to do for others all the time and those many of them do something, the vast amounts of money the collect go towards supporting their own functions, paying for their buildings….. In the end, the Church isn’t giving money to help, it is the people that provide the church with funds to help others. So the church should really not claim THEY help. No, the people make it possible.
anyway, I do appreciate your comments and look forward to your other thoughts as they do make me think as well.
peace

The God of the Holy Bible desires relationship with people “through” the acceptance of Him as their Savior (Jesus Christ) and obedience to His laws.
His gift to the world, Jesus Christ was His ultimate expression of love and patience because Jesus Christ came to do away with many of the laws in the Old Testament because it was humanly impossible to fulfill them. Again, obedience to His laws are key; without obedience, one opens him or herself up to self-destruction and destruction from Satan. Sin is the result of disobedience to God’s Word. Molestation, drunkeness, murder, etc… It is not the desire of God for these things to happen, however, He gave to us free will. We can willfully reject His laws or “choose” to obey them. Old Testament book Deuteronomy Chapters 27 and 28 are the best examples of results from “obedience” and “disobedience.” Moses says in Deuteronomy 30:19, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore “choose” life that both thou and thy seed may live. Apostle Paul says in New Testament book Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Lord is a Master, not a genie. He doesn’t bounce to our beat; we bounce to His.
July 4, 2009 at 7:53 pm
Many people have already heard your story of the mythical superstition you teach of. He has been exposed numerous times on this Blog.
If you think ” it is not the desire of God for these things to happen”. It appears you do not read the bible. God clearly means for EVERYTHING to happen. According to the bible he put the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden. Do you think he didn’t know what would happen? God “planned it all from the beginning….including the ending”. Do you call God’s word a lie? God “appointed a time for EVERY matter and EVERY event” that would mean that if you molested a child, God planned for you to do it. if you are a drunk or do drugs or murder, God planned it. Do you not read scripture or are you yet another one that likes to make claims and magical comments to deceive others.
“…has not the Potter [God] the right… to make… one [vessel] for DISHONOR?” (Rom. 9:19-25). if God wants to make you for honor or dishonor, then he does it.
“I [God] created the waster to DESTROY” (Isa. 54:16).
“The Lord has made…the WICKED for the day of EVIL” (Prov. 16:4).
Really, you should read the bible sometimes because the story you have been sold isn’t what “God” speaks of in the bible.
“O Lord, why have You MADE us TO ERR from your ways…” (Isa. 63:17).
“…so shall the Lord bring upon you ALL EVIL THINGS…” (Josh. 23:15).
“…shall there be EVIL in a city, and the Lord has not done it?” (Amos 3:6).
“Yet He [God] is SCOURGING [severely beating] every son to whom He is receiving” (Heb. 12:5).
“What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God and shall we not receive EVIL” (Job 2:10).
The bible is full of examples that show God planned it all this way. God even planned for Satan to do what satan does. Or have you not read the discussion between God and Satan? Do you think God can create satan and then suddenly Satan change and do something God didn’t already know he would do? If God appointed a time for every matter and every event, like scripture stated, it would all makes sense that he knew exactly why he was creating satan.
it is funny to see many claimed religious people make claims about a God and yet their claims contradict the actually claimed “word” of their God. amazing.
However, as your last statement made clear, “we bounce to his” beat. according to the bible, this is true and thus, you have no free will, according to the bible. If you bounce to his beat and not your own, then clearly it is his will that controls you. Guess what, scripture is full of examples of this as well.
“yet all is of God” and “God operates all in all” and yes, i can provide some examples and many more scriptures.
so you see, your lies will not be sold around here. only to those that have already bought them. However, your lies will be exposed here and if you want to debate scripture, i am here.
If “YET ALL is of GOD” then that means nothing is of us. If “God operates all in all” (operates means to control the function) then we don’t control the function of anything. Thus, there is NO free will and of course you claim there is free will and then you come and say “we bounce to his” beat. funny how you contradict your own statements and Gods.
you can not have free will if god planned it all from the begining, to include the ending, and you can not have free will if God appointed a time fore EVERY matter and EVERY event. If God says it will be done according to his will, in heaven and on earth then I would guess he means it will be done accoridng to his will and not your “free will”.
would you like me to provide numerous other scriptures that show you don’t have free will? You can’t even seek god, chose god, have faith or repent unless it is OF God.
stop spewing the cult you were taught by those ignorant of your “god’s” word and at least read it for yourself and learn.
July 4, 2009 at 11:36 am
You make more claims, “death is a passing” “that leads to heaven”. prove this statement. why is it that religious types think they can just make a statement and thus is it true. I can make the opposite statement and say “Death is not a passing and there is nothing more” I have no more proof for this than you do for what you claim. so please, stop trying to deceive others. you state “Men who torture or kil out of pleasure of selfishness are sinner bcause they harm god’s creation” So men that torture and kill our of hate or other purpose are not sinners? Do you want to provide argument for anything you state or do yo just want to state it have everyone just believe it as fact? this is absurd.
“god set into motion a creation” …PROVE it. Which God? show us which God and then prove the others couldn’t have done it. Again, you make claims, only empty claims that you can not support with one shred of evidence. nothing.
If you would like to debate me on scripture and Adam “choosing” to eat the apple, I am more than able to provide the scriptural logic to demonstrate it was not up to Adam. Adam did what God decided Adam would do. “appointed a time for EVERY matter and EVERY event”. this is scripture and I can provide several other translations to support this as well. Did God not “plan the ending from the beginning” or is scripture lying again? Did God not place the tree of knowledge in the garden for a purpose? Do you think God is ignorant enough to not know what would happen? Did God not create Satan (snake) for a purpose? Scripture tells us God did create him for a purpose.
You claim God chose not to interfere and yet you can’t even prove your god is real or others are not real. Your God seems to think he interfers when he wants and seems to think “his will be done on earth” and he seems to think that if evil happens, he has done it:
“…so shall the Lord bring upon you ALL EVIL THINGS…” (Josh. 23:15).
if you want to debate scripture, you are out of your league as I can prove through scripture that you are contradicting the teachings of the bible. if you want to debate truth, then you need to provide some facts, some evidence, some proof of your claims or you are just a liar.
clearly, you believe what you are told to believe and have no ability to reason or even understand the very word of a god you believe is real.
feel free if you would like me to continue to provide proof and argument in support of my very claims.
peace
July 4, 2009 at 7:34 pm
King’s bro, just because you think it had to come from a supernatural being doesn’t mean it did. Fact is we don’t know how it all came to be, that includes you. However, if you want to follow the logic that it must have been created by “God” then why don’t you prove it was YOUR God and then while you are at it, why don’t you prove it is impossible for it to be one of the other Gods that people believe in.
No, you lie again because “any scholar” would Not say Jesus was an actual man. Clearly, you have not read most scholars because there is much written on this subject and the majority say there is not likely a man named Jesus that was the person spoken of in the bible. However, there are about three (religious) “scholars” that claim Jesus was a man and each of their claims of “evidence” turned out to be nothing more than them attempting to deceive others.
You see, I have address only the first two points and shown that you have yet to provide EVIDENCE for your version of God or any version of God. You have not proven other Gods are not real and you have not proven that your god or A god created everything. You claims are pathetic and arguments that have been shown to be full of holes by others.
Again, if you want to put a quote up and then claim that because the book you took it from says all sinned and then claim therefore all have sinned then we can do that with any book. Darwin said many things in his Book, does it make them true? of course not. don’t be silly. Like I had shown in my last response to you, I can put up scripture that shows your God is the reason a child is abused and a woman is raped. “yet all is of God” that means child molesting and so on. “i create evil” and “if evil happens in a city, have I (god) not done it?”. I can provide long list of other scriptures and even events that the Christian form of God claims to do and all of it evil.
You say “nowhere does it say god will save all men.” Again, you lie as the bible is FULL of scripture that says God WILL save all men. See one of the first 4 posts on my blog. I think it is titled god will save all men. I will give you one scripture here: “For THIS is GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have ALL men [What percentage? Five percent? Fifty percent?] … ALL men to be saved…” (I Tim. 2:3-4).
I can list many more but it would be better if you just tried and learned on your own or reference my past post on the matter. Think about it, what do you need to do to be saved? Confess that jesus christ is lord. What does God say that everyone will do? “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, EVERY KNEE shall bow to me, and EVERY TONGUE shall confess to God” (Rom. 14:11). It appears to be so important to him that he has stated it THREE times in the bible. Do you think if God says he will save all men and then says EVERY tongue shall confess that he is still not going to save all men? Then read the rest of the scriptures that make it clear.
You try to prove something by making more claims. Murder is evil because we, the people decided it is evil. You argument is silly and again, it is not proof of a god and certainly not your God. Do you know what it means to provide evidence, proof or facts? Clearly, YOU DO NOT.
Let me help you:
Evidence: the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid
True: in accordance with fact or reality
Reality: the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them
Fact: a thing that is indisputably the case
Proof: evidence or argument establishing or helping to establish a fact or the truth of a statement
Idealism: the practice of forming or pursuing ideals, esp. unrealistically
Notional: existing only in theory or as a suggestion or idea
Notice how you took the verse for “i form the light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity”. nice job of purposefully taking that scripture in a translation that you think is correct and better fits your argument. However, let me help you again with scripture before you try to deceive everyone, again. stop attempting to deceive in order to think you have proven something.
the word translated “evil” in Isaiah 45:7 is the Hebrew word ra. The Hebrew word for “calamity” is the Hebrew word ade which means “misfortune, misery, or ruin. Whereas the Hebrew word ra means “bad or evil.” It is the same word used for the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil [ra].” It was not the tree of the knowledge of “good and calamity.” Did Jacob really mean to say,“a calamitous beast” had devoured his son?(Gen. 37:33)? Did Israel really “do calamity in the sight of God” by worshipping Balaam, or did they do evil?(Jud. 3:7).
The Hebrew ra means “bad or evil” and it is used over four hundred times to represent bad or evil, not calamity.
Some have tried to show that Isa. 45:7 is speaking of “calamity” and not “evil.” Of the nineteen times that the word “calamity” appears in the Scriptures, it is never translated from the Hebrew Word ra, but usually is translated from the Hebrew word, ade.
so please, learn proper translation and stop trying to deceive.
Now, if you think your God doesn’t do all manner of evil then let me help you. You God of the bible does it, instructs it, created it, makes others to do it and watches it take place. read your scripture or you can look at the post I provided to demonstrate that your God does all evil. it is one of the first 4 posts on my blog as well and i thin it is called Evil is of god.
here are some examples of what your God seems to think he does and you claim he doesn’t:
“I create EVIL” (Isa. 45:7)
Out of God’s mouth “proceeds…EVIL” (Lam. 3:38).
“…an experience of EVIL has God given to the sons of man…” (Ecc. 1:13, Concordant Liter Old Testament).
“…I [God] will raise up EVIL against thee…” (II Sam. 12:11).
“…has not the Potter [God] the right… to make… one [vessel] for DISHONOR?” (Rom. 9:19-25).
“I [God] created the waster to DESTROY” (Isa. 54:16).
“The Lord has made…the WICKED for the day of EVIL” (Prov. 16:4).
“…I [God] will bring EVIL from the north, and a great DESTRUCTION (Jer. 4:6).
“…Hear, O earth: behold, I [God] will bring EVIL upon this people…” (Jer. 6:19).
God told a “lying spirit” to “…go forth, and do so [lie]” (I Kings 22:22).
“He [God] turned their heart to HATE His people…” (Psalm 105:25).
“Behold I [God] frame EVIL against you…” (Jer. 18:11).
“For God locks up all together in STUBBORNNESS [that’s an evil]…” (Rom. 11:32).
“Thus saith the Lord of hosts… go and SMITE Amalek… DESTROY… SLAY both man and woman, infant and suckling…” (I Sam. 15:2-3).
“…God shall send them strong DELUSION, that they should believe A LIE” (II Thes. 2:11).
Do not forget God also stated:
“God is operating ALL in all” (I Cor. 12:6)
“Yet ALL is of God” (II Cor. 5:18)
“…Who works [‘operates’] ALL THINGS after the counsel of His own will” (Eph. 1:11).
“For OF Him, and THROUGH Him, and TO Him, are ALL THINGS…” (Rom. 11:36).
“And ALL THINGS are of God…” (II Cor. 5:;18)
NOTICE: ALL would include EVIL and ALL things would include EVIL
Examples of evil:
Outside of murder by drowning of babies and infants in God’s mass flood. We have religious types telling us God will Torture billions with FIRE for Eternity.
In my Opinion, Torture and Murder are Evil. NOT MORAL
Examples:
Isaiah 13:16 ;Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives ravished.
Isaiah 13:18;Their bows will strike down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants nor will they look with compassion on children.
Hosea 9:16;”Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring.”
Psalm 137:8-9;O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Hosea 13:16;… because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.
Would you like me to provide several other pages full of evidence in support of my opinion from the bible?
The good that comes from this is that many will have opportunity to read it and notice how you have not provided one shred of evidence that YOUR God is real or that any god is real. You have not provided a shred of evidence that any other God is NOT real.
another FACT from scripture is that the Book of Revelation is a book of Symbols and it NOT literal. Yet, you wish to ignore that fact as well and if you would like to learn, I have another post on exactly that topic, one of the 4 first posts on my blog site.
Believe me, I have helped numerous teenagers learn about the lies people like you teach and they have in turn helped others. As you have noticed, the numbers of those that don’t believe continues to rise and it will continue to rise. People don’t need superstitions any more and people are more educated than we were in the past. that is all due to evolution and the level of each generations IQ continues to Go UP.
Again, prove YOUR God is real. You didn’t do it here and I can promise you that you will NEVER do it.
Peace
