“Will a man Rob God?” – Religious Leaders Robbing Their Dumb Sheep

How often do we hear religious leaders explain that we have our problems because we have failed to pay God ten percent of our paychecks to the Church?  The religious leaders that seem to have unquenchable worldly desires are more than willing to provide an address or phone number where the gullible can charge their tithe.  These religious leaders use Scripture in a twisted manner to deceive their dumb sheep into feeling guilty for not turning over their hard earned cash.

Any child that has read the Scriptures could illuminate the lies spread by religious leaders to obtain worldly gain off the backs of the old and poor.

The Church may not like this but tithing in the Church first appeared centuries after completion of the Bible.  They sure did take advantage of their sheep, didn’t they?

If you haven’t guessed it yet, I am going to prove that the tithing taught by Christian leaders is not scriptural and of course are wasted while children die every moment due to lack of food and clean water.

As the Bible explains, Abram who’s name was later changed to Abraham, gives to Melchizedek (a priest of God and king of the city of Salem) a tithe of the best of the booty taken in WAR. It is important to note that this “tithe” was not from Abram’s personal possessions, but rather booty taken from conquered nations.  Additionally, no where does it indicate that Abram tithed on a regular basis or to any Church.  Also, note that Abram didn’t take any of the “booty” of war for himself.  He gave 10 percent to the king and 90 percent was kept by Sodom.

Christians, especially Christian leaders, love to tell us to take Scripture in context, unless it hurts them in some way.  Clearly, if they taught tithing in context, they wouldn’t be able to pull in billions off of the backs of the very people that are truly in need.

We also learn through Scriptures that the priests of Levi, from the family of Aaron but tells us little about tithing to support any of the claims of current religious leaders.  Yeah, tithing is bull shit used to fool the dumb sheep to turn over their money.

Christian leaders teach that these Scriptures are proof from the “Word of God” that Christians are to tithe ten percent of their salaries to the church.

Therefore, I would like to find a Christian leader that can explain how this one account of “tithing”, this never duplicated event is proof that Christians should give 10 percent of their annual salaries until their death, year after year.  Remember,  am not asking about spoils of war so don’t pretend that it somehow relates.  How do the Scriptures discussing this event justify giving the Church 10 percent?

Clearly, it is bull shit to keep millions of dollars out of the mouths of children that are in REAL need.  The Church should be ashamed.  Those that prey on the ignorant should be tried a criminals.  Scripture explains that we should give to the poor, not the rich church to spend on buildings, electricity, heating, water and other needs to maintain the buildings while the children “temple of God” dies from hunger or lack of proper medical care.

Here are the Scriptures I am using for the above discussion:

Gen. 14:20, “And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he [Abram] gave him [Melchizedek king of Salem, the priest of the most high God, Ver. 18]TITHES of all [all the goods of war, Ver. 16].”

Heb. 7:1-10, “For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who meets with Abraham returning from the combat with the kings and blesses him, to whom Abraham parts a TITHE also, from all… Now, behold how eminent this one is to whom the patriarch Abraham gives a TITHE also of the best of the booty. And, indeed, those of the sons of Levi who obtain the priestly office have a direction to take TITHES from the people according to the law… And here, indeed, dying men are obtaining TITHES… And so, to say, through Abraham, Levi also, who is obtaining the TITHES, has been TITHED, for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek meets with him.”

Now, lets look at another examples Christian leaders would prefer to avoid.  Again, exposed by Truelogic:

Gen. 28:20-22, “And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, if God will be with me, and if God will keep me in this way that I go, and if God will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; THEN shall the Lord be my God: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shall GIVE ME I will surely give the TENTH unto thee.”

Note: It is important to remember, Jacob is the grandson of Abraham, whom God also blessed tremendously. Not only did God approve of Jacob’s tithing proposal, but, He made it the foundational principle upon which all future tithing would be based.

Amazing, isn’t it?  The Scripture contradicts he overwhelming majority of Christian teachings on tithing.

Did you catch the words in bold?  Jacob puts REQUIREMENTS on God that IF God meets those requirements, then Jacob will give a tenth.  This is the first example in Scripture of anyone having to give a tenth of anything.

Now, did Jacob give his tithe directly to God by handing it to him?  Of course not, no one has seen God or touched God to hand over money.  Besides, that is not the reason for tithing, is it?  Of course not.

Here is one example:

“And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your TITHES, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks: And there ye shall eat before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, YE and YOUR HOUSEHOLDS, wherein the Lord thy God hath blessed thee”(Deut. 12:6-7).

Another Witness?

“And even though there were no Levites in Jacob’s day, nonetheless, there were “…the STRANGER, and the FATHERLESS, and the WIDOW, which are within thy gates, shall come, and SHALL EAT AND BE SATISFIED; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest” (Deut. 14:29).

Christian and Christian leaders, hat’s how God acknowledged a tithe from Jacob. By partaking of a portion himself and his family in communion and thanksgiving to God, and by sharing his fortune with those who were unfortunate, poor, strangers, etc.

By giving to the Church we put a “middle man” between those that need.  A middle man that spends billions of combined dollars over the years.  BILLIONS!  Christian leaders are pathetic and immoral for using Scriptures to take from other (including the poor and old) and then use the majority of that to pay for their own wants before a cent is ever handed over to those that are less fortunate and in greater need.

Did you notice there is never a tithing of MONEY?  Church? Christian leaders?

Before you Christian “leaders” attempt to use verses from Numbers, remember: It was not just anyone that could claim to be a representative of God and therefore have Israel pay tithes to him?  Example: But the TITHES of the children of Israel … I have given to the Levites to inherit. In order to be a priest one not only had to be of the tribe of Levi, but he also had to be of the family of Aaron. If some of you can trace your family tree back to the family of Aaron, then you can claim to be a priest or representative of God.  Can you?

If you are collecting tithes today, you are a FAKE, a DECEIVER and should be ashamed!

Now, what is more interesting is that under the New Covenant each individual believer forms a NEW priesthood,

“Yet you are a chosen race, a ‘ROYAL PRIESTHOOD’…” (I Peter 2:9).

Therefore, if you want to use a claim that we should give to the priest then we should be giving to ourselves.  I think I can manage that and manage to give to others as well out of the love and compassion that resides in my agnostic heart.

Also, we should point out that Paul never taught the Gentiles to tithe, but he did teach them to give freely from what they had, not from what they didn’t have, unlike many religious deceiving leaders today.

There are many Scriptures used to claim we should tithe to the Church but I think I have exposed what is going on and that it is all a lie used by worldly men to make a buck and get through life.  Selfish individuals that claim to be following Jesus Christ and yet Jesus Christ has NOTHING but the clothes on his back and the sandals on his feet.

A true Christian leader and a true Christian would do as Jesus Christ asked and that is to “do as I have done”.

What would Jesus Do?  I think he would sale the churches and use the money to help those in need and ask nothing for himself.  How many church leaders have homes, cars, multiple changes of cloths, shoes, internet access, phones, computers, jewelry…etc?  Would Jesus?

I claim that ALL religious leaders are hypocrites and don’t actually give a shit what Jesus would do.  They prove it every week on television.  Pathetic!

Hypocrisy always exposed here as Truelogic

Your right, the new testament teachings do not say you have to give a tenth of your increase. It says to give what your heart desired. If you did not want to give to the church then don’t. It also says that those in full time ministry should be supported by those they minister to.

Since Abraham gave to Melchizedek before Levi ever was, the principal of giving to God predates the requirement of giving tithes and offerings only to those of the tribe of Levi. Since Melchizedek is the fore runner of Jesus, you would still give offerings to those that were full time ministers of Jesus. Of course when they gave to Levi, they gave items that would support the priests since the was their only job.

Since the new testament does not hold to the legal requirement to tithe, since they are no longer under the law, there is no punishment for not tithing I would assume. But since the Bible says that God can not lie and God never changes, the blessings of tithing would still hold true.

  2. What’s sad is the guilt put onto others to give to the Church and often at a point in which they have nothing to give and suffer as a result. The Church typically gives only what it can to others after they have paid for all their worldly bills and each other. Then, it goes to those in need…sometimes. The church often puts guilt or even blame on others because they don’t give…therefore, they suffer. They make promises that the hard times will end if they give all they have to give. Preying on others is a practice of many churches and they think it is moral.

  3. What else is interesting is that many church leaders that pray on the poor are traveling in first class or own their own jets. Have you seen some of the suits and jewelry these fakes wear? Thousands of dollars just in worldly clothing and they con ignorant individuals of all ages to hand over more cash. Yet what was given in biblical times was typically crops and or animals and again to levite priest.

It is pathetic and there should be a law against these leaders that practice such immoral acts. Look at the roman catholic church, the mormons and the grand buildings they put together for their “god”. they should be truly embarrassed for what they do.

  6. The gullibility of the people is not an excuse either–since less than 1% of the population reads, amid the laymen, it is evident in their interpretation of scripture.

The infamous verse utilized against laymen is the very title of your post: Should a man rob god. This statement is in Malachi 3:8–however, if the laymen would read the supporting verses surrounding this scripture, it would be clear that this statement in question was referring to the priest hood for misappropriating agrarian resources (robbing their own people) and keeping it for themselves.

Should a man rob god…this is for the clergy. The bible, at times, does disclose the atrocities of its proponents.

True logic, light up the darkness!

  7. You are correct, the verse used most often against men is the one in my title. I just find it interesting how people manipulate Scripture and then use it to control others for their own gain. Yet they claim it is for the good of others. Amazing how we humans fall for the most obvious lies. Good to know that you understand scripture as well. I’m impressed.

  8. I had left a particular church in 2005. I was at home for two weeks just praying and studying my bible. I realized that I had not tithed in two weeks. So I picked up my bible and immediately went to Heb 7:1-10 & cross referenced to Gen 14:1-24. I realized that Abram gave ten percent of somebody else property to Melchizedek, not his own. Abraham was already rich in silver gold and cattle. Gen 13:2. So I realized that I had been lied to. And if that story that I had been told was a lie, what else about tithing was a lie. So I studied tithing from Genesis to Hebrews, and realized that tithes & offerings was food, not money Numbers 18:1-32. I have some videos on YouTube exposing the tithe lie. Channel name “enick3” God Bless
